Think eggs, cheese and meat.

How about bringing your own paper, unwaxed to the butcher for them to bundle up meat and cheese purchases for you. As to the the meat contact and the compost i wouldnt worry too much about it...Adrianahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05154704771485913483noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2729294119994268615.post-12888928177888299102010-08-24T21:35:39.537-07:002010-08-24T21:35:39.537-07:00Hi Peter-the struggle with buying meats so far is ...Hi Peter-the struggle with buying meats so far is the packaging. While I havn't contacted the meat department at the Wedge or Seward directly yet, I've talked to a general Wedge rep and he explained that they are required by law to package everything behind the counter (not taking any personal containers). I can't compost the butcher paper because it has been in contact with raw meat and has a wax side, so its a bit of a dilemma. Obviously in a post-oil world there would be a way to package meat in something compostable, but to be true to the project I'm avoiding it until I can find a solution to the packaging. I'm researching ways to integrate vegetable proteins into my diet as much as possible as this point, any suggestions?Molly Eagenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07286606872067589849noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2729294119994268615.post-71311717876226791682010-08-24T19:11:25.901-07:002010-08-24T19:11:25.901-07:00I apologize if I missed a comment that you're ...I apologize if I missed a comment that you're vegetarian, but I'm curious why meat and poultry isn't in your diet? You might struggle at the Wedge but certainly Seward Coop's meat and poultry is as local as the vegies you've mentioned this week. Once again, many apologies if you are vegetarian. My question is not meant to offend you.

Love your blog and the thinking behind it.Peter D.https://www.blogger.com/profile/01224789772522249929noreply@blogger.com
